Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by book publisher.

David Walliams

Best-selling young adult author and entertainer David Walliams is no longer with his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.

A representative for the publisher commented: "Upon deliberation, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing additional books by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the decision was made after an inquiry regarding reports of inappropriate behaviour directed at female individuals.

The firm has not elaborated on the reasons for its decision, stating: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."

An Illustrious Writing Journey

Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies worldwide in dozens of tongues.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins back in 2008.

Some of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.

To date, he has released more than 40 books combined, encompassing a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

From Screen to Page

His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for the charitable sector and arts community.

This move occurs subsequent to the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive last fall.
